James Bradley
James Bradley
James Bradley was a Labour Councillor from the early 1930’s to 1949. As the local branch secretary of the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers Union he was one the most public but not the only figures of Labour during the difficult decades of the Great depression, the rise of fascism, the Second World War and the post war period of austerity. He had associations with trade unions in the building sector and was a personal friend of Paddy Agnew. Agnew was a Labour MP for Armagh in the Stormont Government. He came originally from Donagh outside Lisnaskea. He had close links with Bradley and the county. He is also credited with having obtained union recognition for workers in the Belleek pottery.
